China-LAC human rights roundtable to be held in Brazil | |

Rio de Janeiro, capital of Brazil, is gearing up to host the inaugural China-Latin America and Caribbean States Roundtable on Human Rights on September 10. The gathering will promote dialogue and cooperation between China and Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) on human rights issues. Hosting the event are the China Society for Human Rights Studies, Renmin University of China and Brazil's Fluminense Federal University. Themed Diversity of Civilization and the Choice of the Path to Realize Human Rights, the roundtable will feature three parallel sessions, which will explore the following topics: Contributions of China and LAC to the Civilization of Human Rights, Realization of the Right to Development and Enjoyment of Fundamental Human Rights, and Current Challenges and Solutions for Global Human Rights Governance. The event will attract a diverse group of participants, including over 120 senior officials, experts and scholars in the field of human rights from China, Latin America and the Caribbean countries. Additionally, representatives from related social organizations, think tanks, and media outlets will be present, fostering deeper discussion.
